The Prophet (SAW) told us and the Qur’an itself mentions it that every dua is responded to either Allah gives you what you want, or he gives you something equivalent, or he averts something away.  Nevertheless, there is an impediment, unless there is something that is called in Arabic “ mawani ad dua ”. Here is very brief reminder of THE THREE MAIN FACTORS THAT PREVENT DUA from being answered. Number one, our prophet SAW said “Allah does not accept the dua from the one whose heart is oblivious”. If your heart's not in the dua, you are not making dua. If you are just repeating something from a book, if you are just saying something like a parrot, if you have no idea what you are saying, if you don't have ikhlas and taqwa, you are just mumbling phrases.  So the Prophet SAW said, “Allah does not accept the dua from the one whose heart is somewhere else”.  Accordingly, if you want your dua to be answered then you had better put your heart and soul into the dua. Nabi saw says, whoever says a very simple dua to remember.  “ Astaghfirullah al-’azeem al-lazi la ilaha illa huwal-hayyil-qayyum wa atubu ilaihi”  What is the result? This dua removes all sins you have done. Nabi (SAW), he says that Allah would forgive him, even if he run away from the battlefield. You know that running away when you are already on the battlefield, engage in war against the enemy of Allah, and you turn your back and you run away. That is a major sin, nor a mirror sin. This dua here and nabi says, “whoever says this dua Allah would forgive him, even if he gave his back to the enemy, which is a major sin”.  This one dua is powerful enough to even clean from the major sin, not only the mirror sins, even from the major sins. This is why dhikr is one of the most effective ways in how one purifies and clean his nafs from shaytan. 

If Allah loves you, you will gain two things.  First, if Allah loves you (reported by Abu Huraira (R.A) in Shahih Bukhari and Muslim), Allah will call Jibreel (A.S). When Allah calls Jibreel, and Allah will say to Jibril “I love my servant so-and-so, therefore you must love him as well.”  Second, if Allah loves you, you will not be touched by jahannam (hell). In Al-mustadrak al-hakim, the messenger of Allah said, wallahi, by Allah, Allah will not throw the ones that he loves them, into jahannam. If Allah loves you, Jahannam will never touch you. Imagine if there is an important person in your country. The most important person calls you for an invitation or calls someone who has a lot of power on your behalf, and then that important person mentions you. Whether it is a queen, whether it is the president, whoever he is, but somebody that’s important calls you. It is guaranteed that you feel so honored. You will share that with everybody that you know. But, ...

Hadith Qudsi of Allah (azzawajal) when he says “my slave he turns to me knowing I am a very forgiving lord”. A man has committed a sin, and he turns to Allah and says “oh Allah! You are my lord. You know and look at me.” So, Allah says to the angels “I have forgiven him”. The man knows he has a forgiving lord and this continues and continues. This man goes back, and he commits the same sin again, and he returns to Allah, he says “Oh Allah! I have done it again”. A sincere repentance, he cries again even more, “Oh Allah! I don't know what’s wrong with me”, he said. Then, he slips and Allah says, “look (to the angles) I have forgiven him’. The man goes back, and he commits the same sin again and again and again and again. He keeps coming back and Allah (S.W.T) smiles upon him and says to the angels “look! At my slave!
