Nabi saw says, whoever says a very simple dua to remember.  “ Astaghfirullah al-’azeem al-lazi la ilaha illa huwal-hayyil-qayyum wa atubu ilaihi”  What is the result? This dua removes all sins you have done. Nabi (SAW), he says that Allah would forgive him, even if he run away from the battlefield. You know that running away when you are already on the battlefield, engage in war against the enemy of Allah, and you turn your back and you run away. That is a major sin, nor a mirror sin. This dua here and nabi says, “whoever says this dua Allah would forgive him, even if he gave his back to the enemy, which is a major sin”.  This one dua is powerful enough to even clean from the major sin, not only the mirror sins, even from the major sins. This is why dhikr is one of the most effective ways in how one purifies and clean his nafs from shaytan. 

Hadith Qudsi of Allah (azzawajal) when he says “my slave he turns to me knowing I am a very forgiving lord”. A man has committed a sin, and he turns to Allah and says “oh Allah! You are my lord. You know and look at me.” So, Allah says to the angels “I have forgiven him”. The man knows he has a forgiving lord and this continues and continues. This man goes back, and he commits the same sin again, and he returns to Allah, he says “Oh Allah! I have done it again”. A sincere repentance, he cries again even more, “Oh Allah! I don't know what’s wrong with me”, he said. Then, he slips and Allah says, “look (to the angles) I have forgiven him’. The man goes back, and he commits the same sin again and again and again and again. He keeps coming back and Allah (S.W.T) smiles upon him and says to the angels “look! At my slave! He knows he is a sinner, and he knows he has a lord, and he knows his lord is forgiving. Oh! My angels bear my witness! I have forgiven him no matter wh...
